50skills was started as a community initiative in 2005 to give opportunity to over 50s to list themselves as available for job opportunities. During the past couple of years, over 4000 people registered on the site in the hope of finding work - many of whom did, however, the site was never formally managed with regards to actively look for work for people over 50
Recently, Richard Walkden, himself over 50, decided to formally take over the site and to start operating it as a resource that will actively help people over 50 to find work.
